Grandma’s Creamy Tortellini

Is there a certain meal that you associate with wonderful memories of your childhood? Well, I do and this is that recipe. Whenever my grandma would have my cousins and I stay at her house for a weekend, she would let us pick the dinner we wanted her to make. My cousins would pick a variety of different things, but anytime I had the choice I asked for Grandma’s Creamy Tortellini.

Grandma's Creamy Tortellini

Cook tortellini according to package directions and drain.

Grandma's Creamy Tortellini

In a large sauce pan mix flour and butter to form a rue. Stir in the minced garlic, onion powder, and milk.

Grandma's Creamy TortelliniAdd the peas, diced ham, and tortellini. Cook over medium heat for 30-35 minutes (until sauce is thickened). Stir regularly so sauce doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Add salt and pepper to taste.
